NXT Sandcrawler

This is a video of a project I made for fun, an NXT Sandcrawler. It's basically the base from the nxt clone tank with a "sandcrawler" body.

It's controlled by a touch sensor. to control it, all you do is hold the button for as long as you want it to go forward. Then, you press it and it goes left. the third time it goes backwards, and the fourth time, right. Then, it starts all over again! I believe the originator, or at any rate who I got the idea from, is Dave Parker. you can visit his site on Nxtprograms.com. It is, in my opinion, one of the best NXT websites with free building instructions out there. It also has insructions for both versoins of the nxt. It is a great site and I highly recomend it.

Nxt clone tank

Here are a couple videos of a clone tank my friend and I made. There are two dart launchers on each side, all connected by one beam, which is pulled by a motor behind it.

Basketball Game Building Instructions

Here are the Building instructions for the basketball game I posted earlier. I did this automated with lego digital designer (a cad program from lego.com), so not sure how well it works. Make sure to start at the bottom of the post as well, since blogger did something weird with the pictures. I also forgot several things, as I did the digital file from memory. However, you can feel free to add your own parts to it!

Mini Pinball Table

A pinball machine is something I have aspired to for a long time. The problem I have had is trying to make something really big. So now I started with something smaller and voila! I have a Mini Pinball Machine! It doesn't have any plunger (design phase forgetfulness), so you you launch it with a flick of your finger. Later comes a Bigger table, sensors and an NXT brick.

NXT Basketball Game

Although this may seem like an easy build, it actually is very fun. The shot is detected by the Ultrasonic sensor after it goes through the hoop. It's kind of like the "hoops Madness" (or whatever it's called) arcade game, except much smaller. I hope you Like it!
Note: sadly, blogger player videos don't work on the iPad. I will try to get more videos from youtube though

Pull-back car

This is a Rubber band powered vehicle.  When the car is pulled back, the rubber band is tightened around the gear. When you release it, it zooms forward! OK, maybe not "zoom". It is a lot of fun though!

Happy star wars day!

Are you sure you can't control the traffic with the force, Lord Vader?

Happy Star Wars Day to one and all! May the Fourth be with you!

Why There Aren't any more cowboys

Ah, the wild west. Where did it go? Watch and find out!

Note: this is a joke. Do not use as a refrence for history papers. :)
other Note: if you can't see the Whole video, either right click and hit "show all", or click on the video title and go to you tube to watch it

Hockey rink

This is a version of rod hockey a made a long time ago. There is a goalie and a forward for both teams, with a Zamor sphere as the puck. The goalies work well enough, but sadly the forwards were very floppy in their slots. It was a concept I tried to do, and some how it worked to some degree (more or less). The two teams were the rebels and the knights. The knights best player was Indiana Jones(who is not a Knight, he just got traded to them). The rebels best players were George and Lucas:). I wish I Kept it built longer, but it was not very stable. Someday I should make a more stable, playable version.

NXT Monster Truck v.1.0

A monster truck is something I have wanted to do for a while. right now this is just a 4 wheel drive base with HUGE wheels. Later will come a new, improved base with more stability, speed, jumping, and a cool casing around it, but for now I have some videos of it with 3-ring binders for ramps(it works! really!).

NXT Excavator-part 1

Yesterday I took apart my Lego Technic excavator so I could add motors and sensors to it. I started with the scooper, since it seemed easiest at of all the parts (I could be wrong). Other parts I'll add later will include the turning mechanism, lifting the arm up and down, and possibly driving.

NXT Cyberball

This bot is based on a game called Cyberball. I played it on a Sega Genesis, but I don't know if versions were made before or after. The bot is not exactly like one in the game, but is similar in some respects. If you look, theres a light sensor beneath the claw, and it senses when it catches the ball. The video is shaky, but hopefully it won't make you sick(:

NXT Bulldozer

The project I had the most Fun with was a Bulldozer. First I made a treaded base. Then I added some other attachments. The best one was the bulldozer blade. Here
are a few short videos of what the bot can do.

Hello!

Welcome to my blog! I am Agent 97. I have been playing Legos for about as long as I can remember, and got my first NXT set in 2007. Over the Summer I got some old sensors, motors, pieces, and a second brick from old FLL stuff in our basement. One of my favorite projects is an NXT bulldozer built a long time ago. The project I'm working on now is a Monster truck with 4x4 drive and huge technic bike wheels. I hope to have a program set up soon, and then I'll post a video. Well, thanks for having the patience to read this, I'll post something soon!
